Effects of Fracturing Parameters on Fracture Unevenness During Large-Stage Multi-Cluster Fracturing in Horizontal Wells

چکیده
Horizontal wellswith multi-cluster fracturing technology is an effective approach to exploit unconventional hydrocarbon reservoirs. The on-site diagnosis results indicate that fractures always tend propagate unevenly due stressinterference, therefore it very essential study the effect of parameters on fracture propagation unevenness. In this paper, model (UFM, Unconventional Fracturing Model) used unevenness in a large stage. This has been validated with actual case Longmaxi shale. investigated include completion (cluster spacing, number perforations per cluster), pumping (fluid injection intensity and proppant intensity). Our simulation show firstly reducing spacing will increase stress interference, andhydraulic exhibit “radial” pattern. Secondly, perforation single cluster can promote more uniform fractures. Thirdly, increasing fluid length, but also Besides, strength little average length length. Finally, setting reasonable obtain propagation. Meanwhile reach goal propagating evenly. paper provides certain reference for optimization large-stage wells.

Stress redistribution in multi-stage hydraulic fracturing of horizontal wells in shales
Multi-stage hydraulic fracturing of horizontal wells is the main stimulation method in recovering gas from tight shale gas reservoirs, and stage spacing determination is one of the key issues in fracturing design. The initiation and propagation of hydraulic fractures will cause stress redistribution and may activate natural fractures in the reservoir. Due to the limitation of the analytical met...

متن کاملHydraulic Fracturing Simulation for Fracture Networks
The term ‘Unconventional Reservoirs’ is used in the oil and gas industry for hydrocarbon reservoirs that have very low permeability in the magnitude of microdarcy (μd) and therefore rely on artificially introducing pathways for fluids and gases, commonly by using hydraulic fracturing techniques, to enable economic production. This approach of using fracturing stimulation campaigns is also incre...
متن کاملPerformance Model for Vertical Wells with Multi-stage Horizontal Hydraulic Fractures in Water Flooded Multilayer Reservoirs
For the characteristics of horizontal fractures in shallow low-permeability oil layers after hydraulic fracturing in multilayer reservoirs, horizontal fractures are taken equivalent to an elliptical cylinder with the reservoir thickness using the equivalent permeability model; then, upon the elliptic seepage theory, the seepage field which has led by a vertical well with horizontal fractures is...
متن کاملDisplacement Discontinuity Analysis of the Effects of Various Hydraulic Fracturing Parameters on the Crack Opening Displacement (COD)
The combination of horizontal drilling along with hydraulic fracturing has significantly improved the production of hydrocarbon reservoirs and made it possible to extract the relatively impermeable and uneconomical reservoirs. The production rate of oil and gas wells increases proportional to hydraulic fracture aperture or crack opening displacement (COD). This is an important parameter i...
